UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 29, 2025 / Drawing on over three decades of professional experience, Daniel R. Ruth, MHSc, LNHA, RCFE, has been honored by Marquis Who's Who as a preeminent expert in the design, development and operations of senior living planned communities and skilled nursing facilities.

Pursuing Passions

With a passion for working with older adults and their families from an early age, Mr. Ruth began accompanying his father to work on weekends when he was just seven years old. His father, a pioneer in the field, and his mother, the first female president of their synagogue, instilled in Mr. Ruth the family's Jewish values and desire to help others. Mr. Ruth attributes his professional pursuits to the inspiration of his family, whose unwavering support has aided his professional endeavors.

Mr. Ruth built the foundation for his future success through various academic achievements. His academic background includes earning a specialized bachelor's degree in sociology in 1982 from York University, followed by a master's degree in health science, long-term care administration and management from the University of Toronto in 1984.

Throughout Mr. Ruth's professional career, he has dedicated time to remaining abreast of developments in his areas of expertise. This dedication is highlighted through Mr. Ruth's involvement in several organizations, including his membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Hospital Association, the American Seniors Housing Association, the Association of Jewish Aging Services and LeadingAge California/United States. Mr. Ruth is also an active member of the Society of Graduates in Health Administration, the Society for Advancement in Gerontological Design and the Hospital Council for Northern California.

A Professional Career in Helping Others

Early in Mr. Ruth's professional career, he served as the president and chief executive officer of the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living from 2002 and then attained emeritus status in 2022. Mr. Ruth has also fulfilled the role of president and chief executive officer of Village Shalom from 1997 to 2002 and the executive vice president and chief executive officer of The Sharon Home from 1994 to 1997.

Mr. Ruth is a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) and certified in residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFE), currently serving as the founder and principal of DRR & Associates LLC dba Dignity Life. Established in 2022, Dignity Life focuses on three aspects. However, Mr. Ruth always directs the company back to the same priority - to leave the world a better place than how he found it, envisioning a better way to care and serve today's elderly. This company aims to assist seniors in the community and nursing homes through developing policies, procedures and training programs, helping facilities become certified at both the state and federal levels.

All the communities that Mr. Ruth has overseen throughout the years have earned the highest star rating, with U.S. News & World Report and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ranking his skilled nursing facilities at the highest level. Mr. Ruth has provided services for roughly 15,000 seniors since the beginning of his career and aims to assist individuals, families and organizations to prepare for changes in the field, particularly when it comes to the prevalence of home health services.

Professional Successes

Mr. Ruth's most notable achievements include DRR & Associates accepting the Nonprofit of the Year Award from District 11 Sen. Scott D. Wiener. However, Mr. Ruth has also personally received various awards from national organizations for the unique design and development of his communities. Mr. Ruth credits his professional success to his parents' influence, especially his father's, who exposed him to the field of Canadian senior care and services.

Looking to the future, Mr. Ruth has a clear vision of elderly care and where it will be provided, believing that traditional nursing homes will become obsolete and that care and services for the elderly will be provided in people's homes. His goal is to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share this viewpoint, helping shape the future and positively impact the quality of life for the elderly.
