He went on to complete a master's degree in psychology in 1995 and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychophysiology in 1997, all three from the same institution. An Advocate for Mental Health

Throughout his career, Dr. Kondwani has been a passionate advocate for mental health, particularly in underserved communities. His research, which includes works published in Ethnicity and Disease and the American Journal of Hypertension, focuses on stress management as a tool for reducing hypertension in African Americans.

In 2010, Dr. Kondwani received a service mark for Consciously Resting Meditation, a technique he developed to help individuals manage stress and improve well-being. He is also a second-degree black belt in Hapkido, which complements his approach to teaching mind-body integration, combining physical discipline with mental calmness.

A Dedication to Community and Education

Dr. Kondwani's dedication to service extends beyond the academic and clinical environments. He was recently awarded a $10,000 prize from Taraji P. Henson's nonprofit organization and will soon receive a prestigious presidential award for his volunteer efforts in the community. These recognitions highlight his ongoing commitment to creating positive change and his conviction in the transformative power of meditation.

Looking ahead, Dr. Kondwani plans to continue his work in education, with a particular focus on meditation and its role in health care. As he nears retirement, he intends to remain active in teaching Consciously Resting Meditation and consulting, further integrating mind-body practices into the health care system. His goal is to leave a lasting legacy by inspiring a deeper understanding of the connection between the mind and body and its potential for improving public health outcomes.
